Uncover More with Oti Mabuse (2020)
As part of Historic England’s flagship Uncover More campaign, Wild Rice Films produced a documentary featuring dancer and broadcaster Oti Mabuse exploring some of England’s most remarkable historic places. The film followed Oti as she visited and stayed at both Powderham Castle in Devon and Hampton Court Palace in London, immersing herself in their history, architecture and cultural significance. Through personal storytelling, dance and cinematic documentary filmmaking, the film invited audiences to discover the people, traditions and remarkable stories that continue to shape these iconic locations. The wider campaign generated more than 28 million impressions nationwide and received extensive national press coverage across major UK and Irish media outlets.
Uncover More with Rev. Kate Bottley (2020)
Broadcaster and author Rev. Kate Bottley visited Taylor’s Bell Foundry in Loughborough to uncover the stories, craftsmanship and traditions behind one of England’s most significant historic manufacturing sites. Produced as part of Historic England’s Uncover More campaign.
The Bells of Brierley Hill (2023)
A documentary following the return of bell ringing to St Michael’s Church in Brierley Hill following the pandemic. Through the stories of local bell ringers, the film explored tradition, community and the enduring importance of heritage in everyday life. The project received national media coverage, including features on BBC News.
Hi! Street Fest with Farrah The Fox (2023)
As part of Historic England’s High Streets Heritage Action Zones programme, Wild Rice Films followed mascot Farrah the Fox on a nationwide journey through towns and cities across England. The campaign celebrated local culture, creativity and community, showcasing the people and places at the heart of England’s historic high streets.
Westgate's Revival - Oldest Timber building in Westgate Discovered
A documentary exploring the restoration and regeneration of historic buildings in Westgate. Through the voices of local residents, businesses and heritage specialists, the film highlighted the positive impact of conservation-led investment on the community and its historic environment.
Blue Anchor Inn - Cornwall's Oldest Pub
Presenter-led documentary exploring the story of The Blue Anchor, one of Britain’s oldest pubs and breweries. Through its history, traditions and the people who have shaped it over generations, the film celebrated a unique piece of England’s living heritage and its enduring place at the heart of the local community.
Loved for Longer (2025)
Following years of successful collaboration, Historic England entrusted Wild Rice Films to help bring its new Loved For Longer brand campaign to life. The film explored the lasting connection between people and historic places, capturing the stories, communities and heritage that continue to shape England’s identity today. As part of Historic England’s wider brand refresh, the project marked a significant milestone in a creative partnership that began in 2020.
